In this day and age, there are so many people saying different things. You should be like this, you should look like this, you should have this, you should get rid of that and if you listen to everything as if they are standards of yourself then you’d be running around like a headless chicken. It is so easy to be critical of ourselves, it is easy to think that we are not enough, it is easy to feel like no matter what you do, it won’t be enough. 

 

The sad thing is, we all let ourselves get into the hype that we all lose who we are. The next thing we know, we become critical of ourselves when really, we are just good as we are. So, here are some suggestions on how to become the best version of yourself.  

 

  1. Love your Body  

 

Love your body, may this be muscle, fat, curvy, skinny flat. Love it, it is who you are, however, do not confuse this with neglect. You embrace your body, you don’t look down on it figuratively speaking, but instead you love every flaw and still work hard to become healthy. If you feel empowered with makeup, or a spray tan Toronto, do it and slay it. Don’t worry about what other people say, as long as you’re feeling good. 

 

  1. Build your Skills  

 

It is pretty hard to look for what you want in a world where there is a ton of niches you can fit in. You can get overwhelmed and panicked but you don’t have to suffocate yourself do what you can to get by but also do what you love, even if you do it too slow, at least you are doing it.  

 

  1. Work for your Dreams  

 

Dreams could be long-term or it could be short-term, but work for it. You are going to feel more empowered and emboldened when you do something that is good and something that you dream of doing. The road is never easy but the journey is totally worth it.  

 

  1. Help Others  

 

It’s nice to stay inside your bubble, you know not doing anything bad but not doing anything good either. The thing is, that won’t do you any good too. It’s better to extend your hand to those who need it. It is a humbling experience as well as a nice reminder that in this big small world there is good.  

 

  1. Surround yourself with Good  

 

There is nothing more detrimental to your mental health than always looking at the negative side of things. Surround yourself with people who seems to be the best version of themselves already. Surround yourself with good and the next thing you know you are pretty much being the best version of yourself.  

 

The thing with this is that, it is easy to lose sight of the main goal, but one thing you always have to remember, you should only become better version of your yesterday, work hard every day to become a better you today.
